Final-year Computer Science student at City University of Hong Kong, building a career from network engineering into network & security — one certification at a time.
I'm Danteh Cheung, a Year 4 Computer Science student at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). I'm fascinated by the infrastructure everything runs on — how packets move, how networks hold together, and how they break.
My goal is to start my career as a Network Engineer, mastering routing, switching and enterprise infrastructure — then grow into Network & Security, designing and defending networks against real-world threats.
Right now I'm on placement as an Android Mobile WebView hybrid developer, bridging native Android and the web with Kotlin and JavaScript — and sharpening the engineering fundamentals I'll carry into networking.
Build rock-solid foundations in routing & switching, enterprise infrastructure and network operations. Learn how traffic really flows before learning how to defend it.
Move to the defensive line: firewalls, VPNs, secure access and threat prevention. Design networks that are not just fast, but hardened by default.
The journey begins this October. Networking fundamentals, routing & switching, IP services and security basics — the bedrock for everything that follows.
Going deeper into enterprise networking: advanced routing, SD-WAN, network automation and large-scale infrastructure design.
The pivot into security: next-generation firewalls, VPNs, secure network access, ISE and threat defence — protecting the infrastructure I learned to build.
The expert-level summit. Designing, deploying and defending complex secure networks end-to-end — the long game, and the destination of this roadmap.
I'm currently on placement building hybrid mobile experiences — embedding web content inside native Android apps through WebView, and making the two worlds talk to each other with Kotlin on the native side and JavaScript on the web side.
